An Invitation from Rex…

Throughout this Christmas season, you’ve been challenged to “take Christmas personally,” by accepting the hope, peace, joy and love of Christ.

Now you’re invited to make your acceptance of Christ public by responding to an old-fashioned altar call this Saturday evening, December 19. By coming forward at the appropriate time, you’ll be committing yourself to God’s service through New Song Church.

Your acceptance of this invitation is an opportunity to keep it spiritual! Your declaration of faith will prioritize your desire to keep the holiday holy.

Please contact me if you’d like to discuss this further.

The Most Holy Night of the Year is Christmas Eve

The chapel will be aglow in candlelight, your church family will be singing Silent Night, and all will gather to hear the Christmas Story.

Adults and children alike are all welcome to participate in this most holy of worship services.

We’ll see you in the chapel at 7pm on the 24th.

Holiday Giving Opportunities

Gift Cards for Magdalene St. Louis

At our last Girls’ Night Out, the women of New Song learned about the important work done by Magdalene St. Louis to help victims of sex trafficking in our community. Sherry Nelson, the volunteer coordinator, let us know some of the ways we can become active in helping the women they serve directly. One way we can help is to purchase and donate Target gift cards of any amount to help the women buy clothing, personal items, and household goods as they continue to heal at Magdalene House. We will be collecting Target gift cards from now through the entire month of December. Please contact Jenny with any questions. To learn more about Magdalene St. Louis, visit their website here

Infant Formula and Jars of Baby Food

Gateway 180 is in need of baby food and formula for the

youngest residents of the shelter.

If you are able, please bring these

items on December 19 so they can be taken to Gateway 180 along with the brown bags.

Brown Bag Saturday is THIS Saturday, December 19

We will gather downstairs after worship on the 19th to assemble lunches for hungry people.  We still need a few items…please let Jenny know if you are able to bring any of the following items:

  • 20 snack-size bags of chips
  • large, sturdy bags or boxes for transporting brown bags to Gateway 180

We are also in need of a volunteer driver to transport the brown bag meals to Gateway 180 by 11 am on Sunday, December 20.  Please contact Jenny if you can do this!

Our Tree Needs More Ornaments!

You are invited to bring an ornament to place on the New Song Christmas tree any time during Advent. Children will love putting their ornament on the tree and watching the tree fill each week. The ornament can be retrieved after worship on Christmas Eve or at any worship service in January.

Worship in a Stable — Saturday, December 26, 5pm

The Saturday after Christmas, we will gather a little earlier than usual at Jennings’ Farm for a truly unique experience…we will worship in a stable. It will be brief, but cold, so dress appropriately for the weather. There will be hot beverages and access to a bathroom. Afterwards, all are invited to gather for dinner at a nearby restaurant (exact location to be determined). Thank you to Pam & Michael (and Max and Sweetheart, their horses!) for allowing us to gather in their barn for this special worship service.

Come, Ye Thankful People, Come!

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and just days later, we will enter the season of Advent.  As we give thanks for the people and activities that fill our days, take a moment to read about all that is going on at New Song.  Get out your calendar and make note of the opportunities for worship, mission, children’s events and more that lie ahead.
Look at all that God has provided!
See you soon!
